Browse all guidesWhat kind of projects do you cover?
We focus on data center migration, relocation, decommissioning, server room moves, and colocation strategy. Project sizes range from 5-rack server rooms to multi-megawatt enterprise facilities. We work primarily with mid-market enterprises and public sector organizations.
Are you affiliated with a specific vendor?
No. The Uptime Expert is independent and vendor-neutral. We maintain a vetted partner network of specialist providers we've personally evaluated, but we have no exclusive partnerships, referral kickbacks disguised as objective recommendations, or sponsored content presented as editorial. When we recommend a partner, it's based on fit for your specific project.
Which regions do you cover?
Our partner network is most established in the United States, where we cover all 50 states. We have active coverage in the United Kingdom (London, Manchester, Slough corridor) and are expanding into Australia (Sydney, Melbourne, Perth). We can also advise on European projects on a case-by-case basis.
Is there a fee for the partner match service?
No fee to you. The partner match service is free for organizations considering data center migration, relocation, or related projects. We earn a referral commission from partners when projects move forward, which keeps our recommendations honest — we have no incentive to push you toward any specific provider beyond fit.
How long does a typical data center migration take?
It varies dramatically based on scale and complexity. A single-floor server room move with 10-20 racks might be planned and executed in 6-12 weeks. A multi-megawatt enterprise facility migration typically takes 6-18 months from initial planning to completed cutover, sometimes longer if the move includes hardware refresh or significant re-architecture. Our cost calculator gives you a rough timeline estimate based on your project parameters.
