Cookie Policy
Which cookies The Uptime Expert sets and how to control them.
Effective date: June 2, 2026
Last updated: June 2, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, which ones we use on theuptimeexpert.com, and how you can control them. It complements our Privacy Policy.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device when you visit. They serve different purposes. Some are essential for the site to work. Others measure how visitors use the site. Others track you across sites for advertising purposes (we don't use those).
What cookies we use
We try to keep our cookie footprint small. The cookies you'll encounter on this site fall into two categories.
Strictly necessary cookies. These are required for the site to function. They include session cookies that remember your theme preference (light or dark mode) and similar functional settings. They don't track you and they don't collect personal information beyond what's needed to make the site work. We don't ask for consent for these because they're essential.
Analytics cookies. Our hosting provider, Lovable, sets a small number of cookies to measure aggregate site usage. These cookies tell us things like which pages are visited, how long visitors stay, and which content is popular. They do not identify you personally. We use this information to understand what content readers find useful and to improve the site.
What we don't use
We do not run any advertising cookies. We do not run third-party tracking pixels for retargeting or behavioral advertising. We do not embed social media tracking scripts on every page. We do not share cookie data with advertisers, data brokers, or any third party for advertising purposes.
If we ever change this, we'll update this page and require fresh consent before activating any new tracking.
Third-party content
When you load a page on this site, your browser may request resources from third parties we use to deliver the site. These include:
- Google Fonts (for typography)
- jsDelivr CDN (for some static assets like the world map illustration)
- Flag images from flagcdn.com
These services may receive your IP address and basic request information as part of normal HTTP behavior. They are not set up to track you in any meaningful sense, but you should be aware they are involved.
Your choices
You can control cookies in several ways.
Browser settings. Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies. The specific steps vary by browser. Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge all have a "Settings → Privacy" section that lets you manage cookies.
Do Not Track. Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. We respect this signal where technically feasible.
Opting out of analytics. If you'd like to opt out of analytics entirely on our site, you can use your browser's privacy mode or install an analytics blocker. We don't currently offer an in-page opt-out toggle, but we will add one if a meaningful number of readers request it.
Blocking all cookies may break parts of the site (for example, your dark mode preference won't be remembered between visits). Most readers don't notice the difference.
Updates to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top. Material changes will be communicated to newsletter subscribers by email.
